ALLORA & CALZADILLA
The collaborative duo was established in 1995 and currently based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They are highly acclaimed for through research, critical interpretation and creative approach to a single object. Their artworks feature environmental issues, anthropology, military and political tensions between countries and social systems and expressed through video, sound, sculpture and performance.
Selected international exhibitions include US Pavilion at 54th Venice Biennale (2011/Italy), the 29th Sao Paulo Art Biennial (2010/Brazil), dOCUMENTA (13) (2012/ Kassel, Germany), Gwangju Biennale (2004, 2008, 2014/South Korea), Aichi Triennale (2013/Japan) and solo exhibitions such as “Performance 9: Allora & Calzadilla” (2010/Museum of Modern Art NY, USA) and “Intervals” (2014-15/Philadelphia Museum of Art, USA).
