TAKAHIRO IWASAKI
Born in Hiroshima in 1975. Received PhD from Graduate School of Arts, Hiroshima City University. Completed M.F.A at Edinburgh College of Art.
Presented solo exhibition at Asia Society in NY, Kurobe City Museum and Oyama City Kurumaya Museum in 2015. Major international art festivals and group exhibitions include: The 10th Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art (2009), Yokohama Triennale 2011, The 7th Asia Pacific Triennale (2012), Asian Art Biennial (2013, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts), The 8th Shenzhen Sculpture Biennale (2014), "Roppongi Crossing 2007: Future Beats in Japanese Contemporary Art" (2007, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo), "Happiness in Everyday Life" Contemporary Art Center (2008, Mito Art Tower, Ibaraki, Japan), "trans×form" (2013, Aomori Contemporary Art Center, Aomori, Japan), and "Nissan Art Award 2015" (2015, BankART Studio NYK, Yokohama, Japan). Selected as a representative artist for Japan Pavilion at the 57th International Art Exhibition, Venice Biennale in 2017.
