MAKI KIJIMA
Born in 1976 in Tokyo. Studied at Oil Painting at Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Under the theme of “reality and imagination” she creates artworks made by careful craftwork transforming usual objects such as pieces of cloth, plastic products into vivid plants and dresses. She ran series of workshops to engage local residents for creation of artworks for Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale in 2009, 2012 and 2015.
She has being expanding her field of work through her involvement as an art producer for “Art Rink” in front of Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse in 2013 and running a workshop at Ichihara Lakeside Museum in 2014.
